Darrell Hill, Age 64

Darrell Lee Roy Hill, 64, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home in Asherville, Kansas. Darrell was born on August 20, 1950 in Superior, Nebraska to Vernon JR Hill and Ellen Garron Hill. He grew up there and attended Superior public schools. He started working at a very young age at Superior Livestock Auction for a time until the family moved to Kansas.

He moved to Beloit in the spring of 1970 and met his wife of nearly 44 years. Darrell and June (Reiter) were united in marriage on October 5, 1971 in Belleville, KS. Darrell adopted June's 2 children, James Lee and Rebecca Dawn. In addition three children were born of this union, Jeffery Scott, Angela, and Loren Tyrone Hill.

Darrell was self-employed for many years as a truck driver and did dirt work in his semi-retirement years. He was known as a joker and left people laughing. He was such a frequent visitor to Pump Mart, Beloit that many referred to it as his office.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Lee, an infant daughter, Angela Mae, his parents, Vernon and Ellen Hill. One brother, LaVerne Dean and one sister, Patricia Ann Barker. Also his beloved niece Pamela Hill.

Darrell is survived by his wife, June, his children Rebecca (Becky) Parks, Jeff Hill, Simpson and Loren Hill, Beloit and 7 grandchildren. Andrew, Jonathon, Shala, and Dana Corp; Bradley, Brenden, and Cody Hill. He would have wanted special mention made of his soon to be step-grandson, Dale.

Visitation will be at Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments from 4 to 7 p.m. with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday July 30th. Graveside services will be at St. John's Cemetery, Beloit at 11 a.m. Friday July 31. Memorials to American Heart Association, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
