Randy Garst, Age 60

Randy Stewart Garst, son of James and Letha (Modlin) Garst, was born on July 22, 1956 in Concordia, KS at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital. He went to his heavenly home on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Stoneybrook Health and Rehab in Manhattan, KS.

Randy was a graduate of Franklin High School in Franklin, NE, class of 1972. Randy's family moved to Mankato in 1973 where he worked various jobs before he entered the Army National Guard on January 9, 1976 and was Honorable Discharged on October 6, 1981. Randy married Lillian Eastman on April 10, 1977 and this marriage ended in February 1978 with no children born to this union. Randy later married Audra Hanson on March 5, 2005 until November 2007 when they divorced; no children were born to this union. Randy then moved to Manhattan, KS in 2010 to be with his girlfriend, Tina Hamm.

Randy loved life. He was a free spirited individual. He loved listening to music, the outdoors, and time spent with family and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Garst (2004).

He leaves behind his parents, James and Letha Garst, Mankato, KS; his girlfriend, Tina Hamm, St. George, KS; nephews Stephan Saathoff, Jeromy Wagner, Christopher Saathoff, Michael Bauer, and Miles Bauer; nieces Elizabeth Saathoff, Laura Shipman, Sara Bauer, and Ashley Bauer; great-nephews Sean, Skyler, Seth Saathoff, Daniel Westerlund, Caleb Saathoff, TannerShipman, Noah Shipman, and Draco Bauer; great-nieces Candence Einspahr, Caitlyn Engle; Makinna Cross; Hadleigh Miller, and Rayne Bauer; along with other family and friends.

Honorary Paul Bearers are: Stephan Saathoff, Christopher Saathoff, Michael Bauer, Miles Bauer, Sean Saathoff, and Skyler Saathoff.

Memorials may be given to the Randy Garst Memorial (to be given to James & Letha Garst, 101 S Lincoln, Mankato, KS 66956).

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:30 am, First Baptist Church in Mankato. There will be a lunch provided after the service for time to visit with the family. A private burial for family only will be at a later date.
