Duwayne Ilo "Pinky" Thomas, the son of Paul Dennis Thomas and Edna Grace (Tantlinger) Thomas, was born March 22, 1932 in Courtland, KS and passed away on July 18, 2017 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 26 days. Pinky attended the local public schools in Courtland, graduating from Courtland High School in 1951. Following his schooling, Pinky began working with his father, Paul Thomas, at Paul's Produce in Courtland. In 1954, Pinky began working at the local pool hall part time, later managing the business. He purchased the business on May 1, 1979, owning and operating Thomas Recreation for many years until January 1, 1994 when he sold out and retired. He continued to work at "Pinky's" part time until August of 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Edna (Tantlinger) Thomas, and his brother, Dennis Eugene Thomas.

Pinky is survived by one brother, Beryl D. Thomas of Courtland, KS and one sister Evelyn Thomas Love of Belleville, KS; Nephews: Dallas, Albert, Timothy, Richard, Mark, Terry, Travis, and Thad; Nieces: Charlotte, Kathryn, Marie, Amy, Cheryl, Laurie, Tonia, and Tia; other relatives, and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Courtland Grade School/Jr. High Gymnasium, Courtland, KS, with Dwight Garman, officiating. Family inurnment services will be held later at the Courtland Cemetery. Friends may sign the register book prior to the services at the school, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
