Diane J. Hanson, 75

Diane J. Hanson, the daughter of Arnold and Ruth (Ahrens) Perry, was born August 24, 1944 in Concordia, Kan., and passed away on September 28, 2019 in Independence, Mo., at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 4 days.
Diane grew up and attended school in Scandia, Kan., graduating from Scandia High School. She then attended Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kan., and later McCook Community College, McCook, Neb.
On February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to John Everett Hanson and to this union three children were born: John, Karen, and Mary. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Yankton, South Dakota. They later moved to McCook, Neb., in 1968 where Diane was a homemaker and later worked at Modern Interiors, the framing department of Ben Franklin, ACME Printing, and Rye's Printing. In 1986, they moved to North Platte, Neb., until 1990 when she returned to McCook, living there until 2014. She then moved to Scandia, Kan., until 2018, moving then to Blue Springs, Mo.
Diane enjoyed listening to a variety of music genres, attending community programs, reading, gardening, and baking. She was passionate about quilting. She was a member of the McCook and North Platte Quilt Guild, and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McCook and Messiah Lutheran Church in North Platte.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Ruth Perry, and her husband John E. Hanson in 2014.
Diane is survived by one son, John (Meagan) Hanson of North Platte, Neb.; two daughters, Karen (Mike) Harrach of Blue Springs, Mo., and Mary (Mitch) Martin of Camas, Wash.; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild; one brother, Robert (Trudy) Perry of Berthoud, Colo.; two sisters, Marcia Grennan of Broomfield, Colo., and Anne (Brian) Grace of Lincoln, Kan.; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, October 4, 2019 at Ada Lutheran Church, rural Courtland, Kan., with PMA Al Urich, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Ada Lutheran Cemetery, rural Courtland, Kan.
Friends may call from 1 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kan., where the family will greet friends from 6 PM until 7 PM.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice, Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's favorite local animal shelter.
