Gayle Sullivan, 71

Georgiana Gayle Sullivan, the daughter of Bryan Weems Sr. and Catherine Hamer Weems, was born on March 18, 1948 near Nashville, Kansas. She passed away on November 16, 2019 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 7 months, 29 days.
Gayle attended school during her younger years at Mahaska, Kansas and graduated from Mahaska High School. She went on to obtain her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Lincoln, Nebraska. On September 20, 1969 Gayle was united in marriage to Francis (Frank) Sullivan at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Superior, Nebraska. To this union were born three boys, Bryan, James and Philip.
Gayle was a 52-year member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, The St. Joseph's Altar Society, the Superior Country Club, the Nurses Association and the Brodstone Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She served as a RN at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior as well as Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings for many years. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling, fishing and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Gayle is survived by her husband Frank Sullivan of Superior; sons, Bryan Sullivan and wife Susan of Gastonia, North Carolina, James Sullivan and wife Traci of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Philip Sullivan and James Brickley of New York, New York; two grandchildren, Erin Catherine and Samuel Bryan. She is also survived by her siblings, Bryan Weems Jr. and Carolee of Thornton, Colorado, Janice Roberts of Quinter, Kansas, Catherine Ann Martin and husband Jerry of Salina, Kansas, James Weems of Superior, Nebraska, and Bruce Weems and wife Cheryl of Ada, Oklahoma, along with a host of many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, Superior, Nebraska, Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:00 am. Father Ferdinand Boehme will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers memorials may go to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Brodstone Memorial Hospital or the Southern Nebraska Arts Council (Crest Theatre).
Rosary Services will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
