Naomi Inez Swanson, 11

Naomi was born on March 22, 2008, in Belleville, Kansas, to parents Kevin and Jessica Swanson of Scandia, Kansas. Naomi has two older sisters, Taylor and Abigail. On January 8, 2012, Naomi was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma; though the treatments were harsh, it never slowed her down from enjoying life. Her love for the outdoors, working with her dad and animals kept her on the go. Unfortunately, in March of 2016, the tumor came back, and Naomi had to start treatments again, until December 28, 2019, when cancer took her from us too early. Though only 11, she accomplished so much. She loved training dogs, and spent hours every day working with her pets. Her quick wit, and spunky personality, were for sure to win the hearts of everyone she met. No matter how bad things were, she could find a reason to laugh. We will be forever thankful for the help and support received, to make her last wishes come true.
She is proceeded in death by her Great-Great Grandma Inez Swanson, Great-Grandparents Charles and Mary Lou Swanson, Great Grandma Bernadine Bartak, and her favorite Jack Russell, Rocky.
She will be forever remembered by her loving father Kevin Swanson and sisters Taylor and Abigail Swanson, and her faithful Blue Heeler, Bruiser, of Woodward, Oklahoma; her mother, Jessica Swanson and her partner Chris, of Salina, brother Emmit Compagnone of Salina; grandparents Dennis and Linda Swanson of Courtland; Richard and Shealane Guse of Elmer, Louisiana; great maw maw Betty Guse; and step-grandfather, Eugene Bartak, of Munden, Kansas. Naomi will be greatly missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous followers, who kept up with her through her battle with cancer.
Naomi was a very special little girl, and though she was taken from us too soon, she has left behind so many wonderful memories.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., and the Courtland Grade School in Courtland, Kansas, with burial following at White Rock Cemetery, rural Republic. Visitation will be on Friday, January 3, 2020, with the family greeting friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.
Memorials are requested to the Toby Keith Foundation OK Kids Korral, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
