Pauline Yvonne Hanson, 98

Pauline Yvonne (Meyer) Hanson, the youngest daughter of Fred F. and Martha E. (Klawitter) Meyer, was born on February 7, 1921 on a farm 6 miles north of Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on January 2, 2020 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 26 days.
Pauline was baptized on April 24, 1921 by Rev. George Gundel. Pauline's grade school years were spent at Shiloh, District 12. She graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1937.
On June 19, 1938 she was united in marriage to James W. Hanson and moved to the Hanson farm southeast of Oak, Nebraska, where she lived for 72 years. This union was blessed with two sons, James Alfred and Dick Dean. They were honored by their children, grandchildren, friends and relatives for their Golden Wedding Anniversary on June 19, 1988.
Pauline's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her family. She enjoyed traveling, working in their yard, the flowers and vegetable garden. She and James hosted bus tours to Branson, Missouri. Her favorite hobby was writing letters.
Pauline was a member of the Oak First Community Church where she served on the Church Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hanson; parents, Fred and Martha Meyer; sister, Helen Harms and infant Meyer; twin great granddaughters, Sydney Ayn and Bailey Marie Sullivan; and grandson, Joby Hanson.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Alfred and wife Janell Marie Hanson of Oak, Nebraska, and Dick Dean and wife Claudia Hanson of Superior, Nebraska; grandchildren, Teresa Marie and John Matthew Sullivan of Superior, Nebraska, Jennifer Yvonne Hanson of Denver, Colorado, Taye Elizabeth and Todd Jeremy Mohler of Woodbury, Minnesota, Angela Kaye Garver of Superior, Nebraska, and Christin Dawn Hanson of Superior, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Brett Michael Garver of Kearney, Nebraska, Mattison Shea and Johnny Ference of Ord, Nebraska, John Hanson Sullivan of Superior, Nebraska, Jack Harrison, Elizabeth Marie and Ava Taye Mohler of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Jaden Mathew and Cailey Marie Hanson of Superior, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Community Church, Oak, Nebraska, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:30 am. Pastor Kevin Bogus and Missie Wilt will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Parkview Havens, Kingswood Court or Brodstone Memorial Hospital
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday with family present from 6 to 8 pm to greet friends at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home, 750 N Commercial, Superior, Nebraska.
