Patricia A. Cline, 70

Patricia Ann Cline, daughter of Melvin Riffel and Elizabeth (Rutz) Riffel, was born May 24, 1949 at home in rural Hope, Kan., and passed away March 25, 2020 in Belleville, Kan., at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 1 day.
Patricia grew up in the surrounding Herington, Kan., area, playing the role of big sister to her rambunctious younger siblings. She graduated from Hope High School in 1967 and attended Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kan., the following year.
Patricia was united in marriage to Gary Cline on November 15, 1969 and to this union two children were born, Brian and Rana. In July of 1976 they moved to Scandia, Kan., and opened a family business, Scandia Auto, where they worked side by side for 20 years. She served as assistant librarian at the Scandia City Library since 2012.
Patricia was active in many social circles and participated in a number of clubs and organizations throughout her years as a member of the Scandia community. She sold Avon, was a member of the Red Hat Society and the American Legion Auxiliary, was a board and council member for the Amana Lutheran Church and Peace Parish, competed in local bowling leagues, and taught line dancing. Pat cherished family time and especially loved watching her children, nieces, and nephews grow up. She was overjoyed by the birth of her granddaughter, Rowan, in March of 2017, who immediately became the center of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin A., and brother, Henry Riffel.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Riffel of Herington; son, Brian Cline of Osborne; daughter, Rana (Elijah Moore) Cline of Scandia; Gary Cline of Scandia; three brothers, Melvin Jr. (Beverly) Riffel of Hope, Terry (Kim) Riffel of Enterprise, Brad Riffel of Scandia; three sisters, Karen (Vance) Donahue of Herington, Marvella Riffel of Scandia, Tammy Stalder of Salina, and one granddaughter, Rowan Moore of Scandia.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 6, 2020 at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, Kan., conducted by Pastor Lance Rundus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, Kan.
Memorials may be given to the Patricia A. Cline Memorial Fund.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 5, 2020, from 1 PM to 5 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, Kan.
